Galanty Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Galanty (文影, "Galanty" or "the Software") is a desktop app for Mac, developed and provided by the developer of Galanty (an individual developer based in mainland China) ("we", "us"). Contact: support@galanty.cn.

By downloading, installing, using or purchasing Galanty, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Refund Policy, which form part of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Galanty.

Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live. If you are not, you may use Galanty only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and a parent or guardian must make any purchase.

2. What Galanty is

Galanty turns your text or documents into animated explainer videos: storyboard → scene code (TSX) → frame-by-frame rendering on your Mac → MP4 export.

3. License

3.1 We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use Galanty on Macs you own or control. Subject to these Terms, you may use the videos you make with Galanty for personal or commercial purposes (for example, videos for your own business or for clients).

3.2 Playing, creating and editing are always free. MP4 export is provided under section 5.

3.3 Galanty is distributed through the Mac App Store. When you buy Pro, the App Store verifies your purchase and unlocks Pro features on Macs signed in with the same Apple Account.

3.5 Open-source components and bundled content in Galanty are governed by their own licenses (see section 8). Where these Terms conflict with an open-source license, the open-source license controls for that component.

4. Purchases, prices and the App Store

4.1 Galanty is purchased through the Mac App Store; both subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are App Store in-app purchases. Payments are processed by Apple: Apple handles billing, receipts, the calculation and remittance of applicable taxes, and renewal and refund issues under its own buyer terms. We never see your payment information.

4.2 Prices are those shown on the App Store for your storefront, and your location's taxes may be added: in the United States, US$6.90/month, US$69/year, or US$199 for permanent use of version 1.x only; other storefronts show the price in local currency.

4.3 Launch pricing. Prices will go up later; what you already bought or subscribed to stays at your price.

5. Free tier and Pro

5.1 Playing, creating and editing: always free, unlimited.

5.2 Free tier: you get 7 exports per calendar month in your computer's local time zone (resetting at local midnight on the 1st of the next month), including your first export. Videos carry a light moving watermark and the Galanty outro, with up to 3 minutes of main content and up to 1080p.

5.3 Counting exports: exports count only after successful MP4 delivery. Failures and duplicate records of the same delivery do not count; a new export counts again.

5.4 Pro: no watermark, unlimited exports, 4K, long videos (up to 30 minutes of main content), batch exports, and a custom outro or none. The pricing page and the in-app description are authoritative.

5.5 Free-tier counts are kept on your computer and need no internet connection.

5.6 We may change what the free tier includes, with advance notice on our website or in the app. Changes never affect videos you have already exported, and never reduce Pro benefits for a period you have paid for.

6. Subscriptions, renewals and cancellation

6.1 Monthly and yearly plans are auto-renewing subscriptions. At the end of each billing period you are charged the price agreed when you subscribed until you cancel.

6.2 You can cancel at any time in your Mac's App Store account settings, or by writing to support@galanty.cn and we will help. After you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, then your Mac returns to the free tier.

6.3 Lifetime license: one payment, valid forever for the current major version (1.x), including all updates within that major version. Whether the next major version is a paid upgrade, and any discount for existing customers, will be announced then. You can keep using the 1.x version you bought.

6.4 Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.

7. Your content

7.1 The text, documents, assets, storyboards and scene code you put in, and the videos you make with Galanty (together, "your content"), belong to you or the original rights holders. We claim no rights in them.

7.2 Galanty processes your content on your computer. We do not receive it, and we do not use it to train any model.

7.3 You are responsible for having the rights or permissions your content needs, for following the Acceptable Use Policy, and for how you publish or share your content.

7.4 If you use an AI assistant to generate text or code, check the facts and quotations yourself. Label AI-generated content where the platform you publish on requires it.

8. Bundled content and third-party components

8.1 You may use the bundled scene templates, sample projects and music in your videos, including commercially. A few items require attribution (for example, music under a CC BY license); the app and the project report tell you when, and you must give the credit as required.

8.2 macOS system voices are provided by Apple and, under Apple's license, are limited to personal, non-commercial use. For commercial work, switch to an on-device neural voice or another voice you have the right to use. The app shows this notice.

8.3 Optional third-party components you choose to download, such as voice models or a PDF text extraction tool, are governed by their own licenses.

9. Third-party services

Galanty can connect to third-party services you choose, such as AI assistants (Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI and others), OpenAI-compatible writing or speech endpoints, and model download sources. They are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and any fees are between you and the provider. We are not responsible for their availability, output or data handling.

10. Updates

Galanty is distributed and updated through the Mac App Store: new versions are checked for and offered automatically by the App Store, and you can manage automatic updates in System Settings or the App Store app. Updates are installed only after you confirm. We may add, change or remove features, but never by deleting projects on your computer.

11. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Galanty is provided "as is". We do not promise that Galanty is error-free or uninterrupted, that content generated by AI assistants is accurate, or that a video is fit for a particular purpose. Review and listen to your videos before publishing.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability relating to Galanty is limited to the amount you actually paid for Galanty in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the liability, or US$50 if you paid nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits; to that extent they do not apply.

13. Termination

13.1 You may stop using Galanty, uninstall it or cancel your subscription at any time.

13.2 If you seriously breach these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy (for example, by reselling or publicly sharing purchase access, or by using Galanty to make illegal content), we may deactivate your Pro entitlement. Entitlements deactivated for a breach are not refunded unless the law requires otherwise.

13.3 After termination, the projects on your computer and the videos you have exported remain yours.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. If a dispute arises, please write to us first so we can try to resolve it. If we cannot, it will be submitted to the competent people's court at the defendant's domicile. This section does not limit any rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory laws of the place where you live.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and will post the new version with its effective date on our website. For material changes, we will give advance notice on the website or in the app. Continuing to use Galanty after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
